The University of Murcia, on Friday 3rd December 2021, published the book “Buenas prácticas inclusivas en recreos y deporte en edad escolar” (Good inclusive practices in recreation and sports at school age), which brings together the direct experience of professionals in education and school sports how to best respond to the social need to improve the quality of life and inclusion of children in times of recreation, at school spaces, through physical activity and sports. The work, published by Editum with the collaboration of the Directorate General of Sports of the Autonomous Community, is coordinated by Olga Rodríguez Ferrán, lecturer in the Faculty of Sports Sciences, and Rosa de los Ángeles Fernández Lagar, doctoral student at the UMU. Throughout thirteen chapters, the book addresses two lines of work: play and sports with the common nexus of inclusion and framed in the school age.

The book, which has been presented at a ceremony attended by the vice-rector of Teaching Staff, José Antonio López Pina; Francisco Sánchez, general director of Sports of the administration; and Eduardo Segarra, president of the Official College of Graduates in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences of the Region of Murcia, is especially aimed at professionals in the field of education and physical activity and sport.

This book is part of a line of research that has been carried out for years in the Faculty of Sports Sciences in San Javier. One of the most significant projects in this sense is the European project PINC, which is coordinated by the UMU, aimed at training future professionals in education and sports so that they have resources on interventions with inclusive objectives in school recreation for students of Education or Sports Science.

A chapter of the book is dedicated to the PINC project.https://www.libreriadeportiva.com/libro/buenas-practicas-inclusivas-en-recreos-y-deporte-en-edad-escolar_75206
